CHA Benefits & Projects
* Involvement in Town Projects:
- Main Street Improvements: sewers, parking, sidewalks, street lighting & signs, sign ordinance, hiking & biking trails, government regulations, economic development & revitalization...
- Beautification: flags, flower containers, wreaths, welcome signs.
- Historic Preservation: Encouraged the town to adopt a local preservation ordinance protecting Clarence's historic buildings and its architectural character. Promote recognition of historic buildings with attractive bronze commemorative plaques.
- Advocate before town officials on community-wide issues of concern.
* Promotion: Clarence Hollow Brochure - Thousands distributed through members, Clarence Chamber, and over 280 locations throughout Erie, Niagara Genesee,and Chautauqua counties. Also Clarence Thruway Travel Plaza; 29,000 weekly Bee subscribers in Clarence, Akron, Lancaster, Depew, Amherst, East Aurora; and 10,000 in the Batavia Daily News.
* Involvement in Town Projects - Main Street improvements: sewers, parking, sidewalks, street lighting, sign ordinance, hiking/bike trails, government regulations.
* Savings through Joint Co-op Advertising - To promote Clarence, the association's tourism and advertising committees contracts for space in selected publications and passes on the savings to members who buy "units". The association subsidizes some destination-focused ads. Publications include (* = Subsidized): Clarence Bee, Amherst Bee, Explore New York, *Buffalo Niagara Official Visitors Guide, *Spree Magazine, *Greater Niagara Regional Events & Festivals, and *Western New York Heritage. Subsidies have totaled over $3,000 annually.
* Free Weekly email blasts informing members of current events within the community as well as members' special events.
* Monthly Mailing to new Town of Clarence, Akron, and Lancaster residents. Along with a welcome letter and brochure, businesses may include a flyer or coupon for a small fee.
* Web Site - Be included on the CHA web site. Members may include a link to their web site.
* Networking among fellow Clarence residents and businesses who often refer customers and friends to fellow CHA business acquaintances.
* Business After Hours - Monthly get-togethers with refreshments featuring a different business.
* Awards - Scholarship cash awards to Clarence High School students grated annually.
* Clarence Hollow Farmers' Market - Evert Saturday, June thru October, 10717 Main Street, Tables at no-charge for community service organizations and non-profit groups; call 759-1055.
